Junior Inventory Controller / Inventory Clerk

Salary: R15 000 – R18 000 CTC (depending on experience)

Our client, a well-established South African manufacturer of cutting and drilling equipment for the mining, road construction, and trenching industries, is looking for a Junior Inventory Controller / Inventory Clerk to join their team.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Junior Inventory Controller / Inventory Clerk will be responsible for tracking, recording, and managing stock levels within a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate must have prior experience in manufacturing inventory control and working knowledge of the Evolution accounting system.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in an inventory control role within the manufacturing industry (non-negotiable)
• Experience working on the Evolution accounting system (non-negotiable)
• Basic understanding of Bill of Materials (BOMs)
• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
• Good understanding of stock control procedures and documentation
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Grade 12 (relevant tertiary qualification advantageous)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receive, count, and verify incoming stock against delivery notes and invoices.
• Maintain accurate stock records on Evolution.
• Record inventory movements accurately in the inventory system.
• Assist with stock takes and cycle counts.
• Ensure correct storage, labelling, and organisation of inventory.
• Work closely with procurement, warehouse and operations teams.
• Investigate and report stock discrepancies/variances.
• Issue stock to departments as required and maintain records.
• Generate inventory reports as required by management.
