South Africa is on track for its strongest year yet for renewable energy investment, with around 5,250 MW of new solar, wind and storage capacity expected to reach financial close in 2026. Every project that closes needs an experienced construction and engineering team quickly — and every project that starts operating needs a long-term operations team. When should we start recruiting for a renewable energy project?

Ideally at financial close. Experienced project, electrical and construction people are usually committed months ahead, so starting when construction begins often means competing for whoever is left.

Do you recruit for operations as well as construction?

Yes. As projects reach commercial operation, the need shifts to O&M managers, technicians, asset managers and finance teams. We recruit for both phases.
