Manufacturing Supervisor

A Manufacturing or Production Supervisor runs a shift or production line day to day. They lead a team of operators to hit output, quality and safety targets, solve problems as they happen, and are the link between the factory floor and production management.

What the role involves

• Planning and allocating the team for each shift
• Meeting output, efficiency, waste and quality targets
• Safety on the line: toolbox talks, PPE, incident reporting
• Shift handovers, production records and downtime reporting
• Attendance, discipline and basic industrial relations
• Training operators and supporting continuous improvement

What makes a strong candidate

We look for proven shift or line supervision in a comparable process, hands-on production knowledge, confidence handling discipline and IR matters fairly, and the ability to keep a team motivated on night and weekend shifts. A relevant diploma is an advantage.

Red flags we screen for

• “Team leader” experience with no real people responsibility
• Unwilling to work the shift pattern the role requires
• No experience with disciplinary processes
