Mining Engineers are typically responsible for:

What We Assess
We assess commodity and mining-method experience, planning software (for example Deswik or Datamine), statutory certificates held, safety record, production results, and willingness to work on remote sites or rosters.
Mining Engineer Salary Benchmarks
Our 2026 South African Engineering Salary Guide puts experienced Mining Engineers at roughly R60k–R105k per month CTC and senior Mining Engineers at R105k–R180k+. Remote sites, statutory appointments and rosters can add significantly to the package.
