What This Role Covers
C&I and automation engineers are typically responsible for:

What We Assess
We assess the control platforms a candidate knows (for example Siemens, Rockwell or ABB), design versus maintenance experience, commissioning track record, hazardous-area experience, and the industries they have worked in.
C&I Engineer Salary Benchmarks
Our 2026 South African Engineering Salary Guide puts experienced Control & Instrumentation Engineers at roughly R50k–R82k per month CTC and senior Control & Instrumentation Engineers at R82k–R135k+. Automation / PLC engineers are in a similar range.
