Non-Executive Director
Senior/board-level · By negotiation (indicative market range)
A Non-Executive Director (NED) brings independent judgement and senior industry experience to a company’s board. NEDs do not run the business day to day; they strengthen governance, challenge and support management, and help shape strategy.
What the role involves
- Attending board and committee meetings (often audit, risk or remuneration)
- Constructive challenge of strategy, performance and risk
- Upholding good governance in line with the Companies Act and King IV
- Sharing sector knowledge and networks with the executive team
What boards look for
Prior board or senior executive experience, sector-relevant expertise, governance and risk knowledge, independence, and time for the board calendar.
How PMG supports NED appointments
We agree the skills the board needs, search discreetly among experienced executives and directors, and check for conflicts of interest before introducing candidates, always with their written consent.
