Management Accountant

A Management Accountant turns the numbers into decisions. In a manufacturing operation they own costing, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis, and work closely with plant and commercial leaders to show where margin is being made or lost.

What the role involves

• Monthly management accounts and KPI packs for the leadership team
• Annual budget and rolling forecasts
• Standard and actual costing, margin and variance analysis
• Capex evaluations and business cases
• Building reports and dashboards in Excel, Power BI or similar

What makes a strong candidate

Strong Management Accountants are commercially curious. We look for CIMA or a BCom (Honours an advantage), real budgeting and costing experience, advanced Excel and ideally a BI tool, and the confidence to challenge operational managers with data.

Red flags we screen for

• Reports produced but never explained or acted on
• No ownership of a budget cycle
• Weak Excel for the level claimed
