Quality Engineer

A Quality Engineer makes sure products meet specification every time, and that problems are fixed at the root. In a manufacturing quality function they own the quality management system, lead non-conformance investigations, and drive improvements with production and suppliers.

What the role involves

• Maintaining the ISO 9001 (or IATF 16949, FSSC 22000) quality management system
• Non-conformance and customer-complaint investigations using 8D, 5-Why and Ishikawa
• Internal audits, and supporting customer and certification audits
• Process control plans, inspection standards and statistical process control
• Supplier quality and incoming inspection

What makes a strong candidate

We look for an engineering or quality qualification, solid ISO systems experience, real root-cause problem-solving, internal-auditor training, and the confidence to stop production when quality is at risk. Sector-specific standards (automotive, food, medical) are a strong advantage.

Red flags we screen for

• Inspection or paperwork experience only, without investigations
• No examples of problems they actually solved
