Cost Accountant

Location: Boksburg / East Rand (Ekurhuleni), Gauteng
Employment Type: Permanent

Salary: R60,000 – R70,000 per month CTC, commensurate with experience

Overview

Our client, an established manufacturer of precision cutting and drilling equipment for the mining, road construction and trenching industries, is looking for a Cost Accountant to take ownership of product costing, inventory valuation, manufacturing cost analysis and related financial controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain standard costing structures for raw materials, components, labour and overheads
• Review and update Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings and master data for costing integrity
• Prepare monthly cost accounting reports, including variance and gross margin analysis
• Analyse material usage, labour recovery, overhead absorption, scrap and production variances
• Ensure accuracy of inventory valuation, including cycle counts and stock counts
• Support month-end close, budgeting and forecasting processes
• Partner with Production, Procurement and Engineering on costing and margin decisions
• Support internal/external audits and drive continuous improvement in costing and reporting

Minimum Requirements

• CIMA qualified
• Minimum 5 years’ cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
• BCom Accounting / Cost & Management Accounting / Finance preferred
• Strong standard costing, BOM, inventory and variance analysis skills
• ERP experience and advanced Excel capability
• Appointment in line with client’s BBBEE / Employment Equity objectives; all suitably qualified candidates will be considered
